Download GigPigeon from Google Play or the App Store, or use it in your browser at app.gigpigeon.com — it's the same account everywhere. Create an account with your email address and a password, or with Google or Apple. You'll need to agree to our Terms and Conditions, then choose a username (that's how friends find you) and how you'd like to rate shows.
You can replay the quick tour of the app at any time from Profile → Replay onboarding tour.
Tap the + button, pick the artist and the venue or festival, and add the date, your rating, some notes and a photo if you like. If the band or venue isn't in GigPigeon yet, add it yourself as you go. You can tag friends who were there with you.
Notes can be kept private, so they're only visible to you. Everything you've logged lives in the Shows tab, where you can search and filter your history.
Choose the scale that suits you: how far you'd travel to see them again, how much you'd pay, how much merch you'd buy, how long you'd queue — or plain stars. Change it any time from Profile → Rating scale; your past ratings keep their score and are simply shown on the new scale.
The Upcoming view shows gigs near you, with links to buy tickets. Once you've booked, record your booking so it appears under Bookings — bookings are saved on your phone, so you can log the show at the gig even without a signal. You can also heart an artist to hear about their new shows.
Search for a festival to see its line-up and running order, stage by stage. If you've planned your weekend on Clashfinder, add your Clashfinder username in Profile → Account settings and GigPigeon will pull in your picks, so logging everyone you saw afterwards takes seconds.
Find friends by username from Profile → Friends → Add a friend, or send them your invite link. Once they accept, you'll see each other's shows in your Feed. Loved a show a friend logged? Give it a Standing Ovation.
On an artist's page you can switch between check-ins from your Friends and from Everyone.
If you see something that breaks our rules, tap the flag icon. You can report any check-in (including its review and photo) from the feed, an artist's page or the show itself, and you can report a user's username or profile picture from friend search, a friend request, or by tapping a friend to open their page. A reported check-in is hidden from everyone else straight away while we review it, and we review every report within 24 hours.
When you report someone you can also block them. To remove or block a friend, tap them in your friends list and use the bin icon on their page. You'll also be offered the option to block someone when you decline their friend request. Blocked users can't send you friend requests, and you won't see each other's check-ins. Tap your picture on the Profile tab to change it. Your username, email address and password are in Profile → Account settings, and display preferences are in Profile too.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and everything you've logged. Our Privacy Policy explains what we store and why.
